Ottawa Senators and NCC Reach Agreement with CSDI for New Arena at LeBreton Flats
Sep 20, 2024, 05:10 PM
The Ottawa Senators have reached a lease agreement with the National Capital Commission (NCC) to build a new arena and mixed-use development on LeBreton Flats. The deal includes the sale of over 10 acres of land to Capital Sports Development Inc. (CSDI) at fair market value. Senators president Cyril Leeder and NCC CEO Tobi Nussbaum announced the agreement at a 1 PM media conference. Leeder emphasized the importance of owning the land and noted that the project will not be funded by taxpayers. Nussbaum stated that the NCC wants green spaces around the rink. While no timeline or costs have been provided, the agreement marks a significant step forward for the Senators' new arena project.
