The U.S. Commerce Department announced plans to award up to $100 million to accelerate research and development (R&D) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies for semiconductor materials. This initiative, part of the Biden-Harris Administration's efforts, aims to boost the use of AI in creating sustainable semiconductor materials. The department issued a Notice of Intent, stating that the competition will demonstrate how AI can assist in developing new sustainable semiconductor materials and processes that meet industry needs and can be designed and adopted within five years.
