Karnataka JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna Arrested for Alleged Sexual Assault of Male Party Worker; Case Transferred to CID
Jun 23, 2024, 05:27 AM
JD(S) MLC Suraj Revanna, the son of HD Revanna and brother of Prajwal Revanna, has been arrested by the Karnataka police on allegations of sexually assaulting a male party worker. The incident reportedly took place at Suraj Revanna's farmhouse in Gannikada village, Hassan, on June 16. The complainant, Chethan, accused Suraj of engaging in unnatural sexual relations. Suraj Revanna has denied the allegations, claiming the accusations are part of a blackmail attempt to extort Rs 5 crore from him. The police have registered an FIR under sections 377, 342, 506, and 34 of the IPC at Holearasipura Town Police Station. Suraj's close aide, Shivakumar, has also filed a counter-complaint alleging the complainant was threatening Suraj. The case has been transferred to the CID for further investigation. Suraj Revanna was taken to Hassan government hospital for a medical examination and is currently in police custody.
