Seventeen Killed in Two Mass Shootings in Eastern Cape Town

Seventeen people were killed in two mass shootings in Lusikisiki, a town in South Africa's Eastern Cape province, on Friday night. The incidents occurred at two homes in close proximity to each other. In one house, 13 people were killed, including 12 women and a man. The victims were reportedly relatives and neighbors gathered for a mourning ceremony for a mother and daughter who were murdered a year ago. One survivor is in critical condition. Eastern Cape police have launched a manhunt to find the perpetrators. The motive behind the shootings is currently under investigation.
