Putin Ready to Meet Trump 'Anytime' for Ukraine Peace Talks Without Preconditions
Dec 19, 2024, 04:04 PM
Russian President Vladimir Putin declared his readiness to meet with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump "at any time" to discuss resolving the war in Ukraine. Speaking during his annual news conference on Thursday, Putin stated that he has not spoken with Trump in over four years but is open to negotiations and willing to compromise without preconditions. He emphasized that Russia has no conditions for starting talks with Ukrainian authorities to end the conflict. Putin noted that Trump has touted his ability to strike a Ukraine peace deal within hours of assuming office. Putin dismissed suggestions that he would approach talks as the "weaker leader."
