Michael Hawkins, 53, Arrested in Southeast DC Arson Fires

Members of the DC Fire and EMS Fire Investigation Unit have made an arrest in connection with two arson fires that took place on July 25th and 26th in the 2100 block of Suitland Terrace SE. The suspect, Michael Hawkins, 53, of the District, was taken into custody today. Authorities stated that the fires were the result of targeted arson attacks. Hawkins is accused of throwing burning items at an apartment building in Southeast DC on Friday morning, leading to charges of arson.
