Former LSU Wide Receiver Kyren Lacy Wanted for Negligent Homicide, Flees Scene After Fatal Crash
Jan 10, 2025, 09:37 PM
Former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy is wanted by Louisiana State Police on charges of negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle following a fatal crash on December 17, 2024. The crash occurred on Louisiana Highway 20 when Lacy, driving a 2023 Dodge Charger, allegedly passed multiple vehicles at high speed by crossing the centerline into a no-passing zone. This action led to a chain reaction where a northbound pickup truck swerved to avoid a collision, causing a 2017 Kia Cadenza to cross the centerline and collide head-on with a southbound 2017 Kia Sorento. Herman Hall, a 78-year-old passenger in the Sorento, died from his injuries, while the drivers of the Cadenza and Sorento were moderately injured. Lacy is accused of fleeing the scene without rendering aid or calling emergency services. He declared for the NFL Draft two days after the incident. LSU has issued a statement indicating no comment out of respect for the legal process, and Lacy's agent has stated that he is fully cooperating with authorities.
