VisitCIA Officer Asif Rahman Arrested in Cambodia for Leaking Israel's Retaliation Plans Against Iran
Nov 13, 2024, 01:55 PM
Federal prosecutors have charged a CIA official, Asif W. Rahman, who held a top-secret security clearance and worked overseas, with disclosing classified documents that appeared to show Israel’s plans to retaliate against Iran for a missile attack earlier this year. Rahman was arrested by the FBI in Cambodia on Tuesday. He was indicted last week in federal court in Virginia on two counts of willful retention and transmission of national defense information under the Espionage Act. Rahman was transported to a federal court in Guam for his initial appearance. The classified documents allegedly detailed Israel's preparations for a potential strike against Iran.
