Uvalde Grand Jury Indicts Former Police Chief and Officer on 10 Counts Over Shooting That Killed 21
Jun 28, 2024, 12:30 AM
A Uvalde County grand jury has indicted former Uvalde school district police chief Pete Arredondo and UCISD PD Officer Adrian Gonzalez on multiple counts of child endangerment and abandonment. The indictments are part of the ongoing investigation into the 2022 mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, which resulted in the deaths of 21 people, including 19 children and two teachers. Arredondo, who has been charged with 10 felony counts, was accused of delays and missteps that contributed to the failed police response during the massacre by Salvador Ramos. Both Arredondo and Gonzalez face charges of injury to a child by omission. Arredondo turned himself in to the Uvalde County Jail and was released on a $10,000 surety bond.
