Terrorist Attack on Pilgrim Bus in Reasi, Jammu Kills 10, Injures 33; Driver Shot
Jun 10, 2024, 04:36 AM
In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, a bus carrying Hindu pilgrims was attacked by suspected militants. The bus, traveling from the ShivKhori cave shrine to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra, came under heavy fire, causing the driver to lose control and the bus to plunge into a gorge. The attack resulted in the deaths of at least 10 pilgrims and left 33 others injured, including children. The driver was shot in the head. Multiple bullet cartridges were found at the site, and a search operation by the Indian Army, including the use of drones, is underway to locate the terrorists responsible. A Pakistan-backed group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Nine victims have been identified, with four from Rajasthan and three from Uttar Pradesh. The attack has been condemned widely, with officials highlighting the deliberate targeting of civilians.
