Hamas and Fatah Sign Beijing Declaration to End Years-Long Rift
Jul 23, 2024, 09:31 AM
On July 23, representatives from 14 Palestinian factions, including Hamas and Fatah, signed the Beijing Declaration in China. The agreement, brokered by China, aims to end divisions and strengthen Palestinian unity. The declaration was signed after a three-day reconciliation dialogue held in Beijing from July 21 to 23. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the signing ceremony. This marks a significant step towards resolving the years-long rift between Hamas and Fatah, and includes plans to form an interim national unity government for post-war Gaza.
