Jul 24, 2024, 04:22 AM
An explosion at the José Cuervo tequila factory, La Rojeña, in Colonia La Villa, Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico, has resulted in the deaths of at least five people and injuries to two others. The incident occurred on Tuesday and led to a fire that was eventually extinguished by company personnel. The explosion, which took place in a 500,000-liter tank, also caused the collapse of two additional tanks. Emergency services evacuated workers and tourists from the area. Authorities are currently searching for five people who have been reported missing. Víctor Hugo Roldán, director general of Jalisco's Civil Protection, indicated that a heat-related maneuver might have triggered the explosion.
