China has successfully conducted the maiden flight of its next-generation KJ-3000 airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft. The KJ-3000, based on the Y-20B transport aircraft and powered by WS-20 engines, features a large rotodome and a distinctive bulge on the tail, enhancing its electronic warfare and command capabilities. The aircraft is equipped with next-gen radar and conformal antennas, designed to detect and track stealth aircraft, with a reported detection range exceeding 360 kilometers for such targets.
