Sudan's RSF Kills 124 in Attack on Al-Jazira Villages

More than 50 people were killed and over 200 injured in an attack by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) on a village in central Sudan, according to non-governmental groups. Activists reported that the attack occurred in al-Jazira state, where the RSF besieged and raided villages. The death toll has been reported as high as 124, with local volunteers confirming the massacre of civilians in the farming village of Al Sireiha in El Gezira. The attacks were reportedly in retaliation for the defection of RSF commander Abuagla Keikal to the army. The violence has led to the displacement of thousands of civilians and marks one of the deadliest incidents in Sudan's 18-month conflict.
