China Allegedly Arms Houthis, Enabling Cruise Missile Plans and Red Sea Passage

U.S. intelligence sources have revealed a covert collaboration between China and Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels. According to reports, China has been supplying advanced weaponry, including drones, anti-ship missiles, and precision-guided munitions, to the Houthis. In exchange, the Houthis have agreed to provide safe passage for Chinese-flagged vessels through the Red Sea, a critical maritime route. The supply chain reportedly involves advanced missile components and guidance systems, enabling the Houthis to enhance their missile capabilities. The Houthis are also reportedly planning to produce hundreds of cruise missiles capable of targeting Persian Gulf states using these Chinese components. Houthi officials have visited China multiple times to establish this supply chain. This arrangement has raised concerns about regional stability and the security of international shipping lanes. The U.S. has reportedly shared detailed information with Beijing about Chinese companies involved in the arms supply chain, but Beijing has not taken action. Washington is now considering joint measures with Israel to disrupt these networks.
