North Korea Pledges Support to Russia in Ukraine 'Sacred War' Until Victory, Says Foreign Minister
Nov 1, 2024, 10:33 AM
North Korea's Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui declared during her visit to Moscow that Pyongyang will stand by Russia until its 'victory' in Ukraine is achieved. In meetings with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, Choe stated, "We repeat that we will always stand firmly by our Russian comrades until the day of victory." She affirmed that North Korea has no doubt that the Russian army will achieve victory and that Pyongyang will firmly support its Russian comrades. Choe referred to Russia's invasion of Ukraine as a 'sacred war' and mentioned that from the very beginning, "our esteemed comrade Kim Jong Un instructed us to consistently and powerfully support and assist the Russian army in their holy war." This comes amid warnings from the US that thousands of North Korean troops could be sent to combat in the Ukraine conflict in the coming days.
