The Ontario government, led by Premier Doug Ford, has signed a $100-million deal with Elon Musk's SpaceX to provide high-speed internet access through Starlink to 15,000 homes and businesses in remote and rural areas, including northern Ontario. The initiative, known as the Ontario Satellite Internet (ONSAT) program, aims to connect underserved communities, enhancing their access to global resources and digital connectivity. The system is expected to go live by Summer 2025.
