Jun 14, 2024, 04:41 PM
Alstom and Transport for London (TfL) have reached a final agreement for an order of 10 new Elizabeth Line trains. The deal, backed by £220 million of Government funding, will keep Alstom’s Litchurch Lane factory in Derby operational and secure more than 1,300 jobs. The total value of the contract is £370 million. This agreement ensures that Alstom will base their next generation of Adessia trains in Derby, safeguarding the future of Britain's largest train manufacturing plant. The deal was secured after significant campaigning from Labour and Unite.
