Patanjali Halts Sale of 14 Medicines Amid Supreme Court Case Over Misleading Ads on July 9
Jul 9, 2024, 08:27 AM
Patanjali Ayurved Ltd, led by Ramdev, has halted the sale of 14 ayurvedic medicines following a Supreme Court case filed by the Indian Medical Association against the company for publishing misleading medical advertisements. The Supreme Court, with a bench presided by Justices Hima Kohli and Sandeep Mehta, heard the case on July 9. Patanjali informed the court that it has issued instructions to its 5,606 franchise stores to withdraw the suspended products. The Uttarakhand State Licensing Authority had suspended the manufacturing licenses for these products in April. Media platforms have been asked to stop broadcasting any related advertisements.
