Israeli Airstrikes on Hamas Command Center in Gaza's Mawasi Area Kill 40, Injure 60

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) conducted airstrikes on a Hamas command and control center embedded within a designated humanitarian area in Khan Yunis, southern Gaza. According to official Israeli statements, the operation targeted significant Hamas terrorists who were using the facility to carry out terror attacks. Palestinian sources, including the Gaza civil defense and the Palestinian news agency WAFA, reported that the strikes resulted in at least 40 deaths and 60 injuries. The strikes targeted the Mawasi area, which housed displaced people. The Israeli military stated that measures were taken to mitigate civilian harm during the operation.
