China Begins Construction of Core Array for FAST Telescope, Xinhua Reports

China has commenced the construction of the Core Array for its Five-Hundred-Meter Aperture Spherical Radio Telescope (FAST), Xinhua reported. The Core Array will integrate 24 secondary 40-meter antennas within five kilometers of the FAST site. The project is expected to be completed and operational by 2027.
