China Completes 2,890-Meter Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, Set to Become World's Tallest at 625 Meters by 2025

China has completed the main structure of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou Province, which is poised to become the tallest bridge in the world. The bridge, which spans 2,890 meters and features a vertical drop of 625 meters from the deck to the Beipan River below, has seen 93 sections assembled as of January 17, 2025. Construction began in 2022, and the bridge is expected to be operational in the second half of 2025. The completion of the main structure was marked by the installation of the final steel girder, weighing approximately 215 tonnes. Once finished, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge will not only hold the title of the world's tallest bridge but will also be the highest mountain crossing bridge globally.
