Two Venezuelan Illegal Immigrants Charged with Capital Murder of 12-Year-Old Jocelyn Nungaray in Houston
Jun 20, 2024, 10:20 PM
The body of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray was discovered in a creek off West Rankin Road near the North Freeway in north Houston on June 17, 2024. Police revealed that she had been raped and strangled. Surveillance footage showed her with two men at a convenience store shortly before her death. These men, identified as Johan Jose Rangel Martinez, 21, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, both from Venezuela, were detained and charged with capital murder. It was later uncovered that at least one of the suspects had been released into the US by Border Patrol just weeks prior. The case has sparked significant public outrage and calls for stricter border control policies.
