OpenAI has launched GPT-4o Mini, a smaller and more cost-efficient version of its powerful GPT-4o model. The company describes it as 'the most capable and cost-efficient small model available today.' This new model is designed to replace GPT-3.5 in ChatGPT and is aimed at making advanced AI more accessible to developers and businesses. GPT-4o Mini is notable for its multimodal capabilities, with plans to integrate image, video, and audio processing in the future. The model is priced at 15 cents per 1 million input tokens and 60 cents per 1 million output tokens, which is significantly cheaper than previous models, costing 60% less and being 30x cheaper than GPT-4o. It also features a 128k context window and scores 82% on the MMLU benchmark, outperforming GPT-4 on chat preferences. Additionally, it is smarter than Claude Haiku.
