Tesla Gains Entry into Chinese Government NEV Procurement Catalog for First Time
Jul 5, 2024, 07:35 AM
Tesla has been included in Jiangsu province's local government procurement list, marking the first time the electric vehicle manufacturer has been considered for purchase by Chinese government departments. This development comes after Tesla slashed prices in April to meet a key threshold, opening up a significant new customer base in China. Several state-owned firms in Shanghai, including Lingang Special Area Investment Holding, have recently purchased Tesla Model Ys as corporate vehicles, demonstrating support for foreign automakers. Tesla has also entered the Chinese government's NEV Procurement Catalog for the first time.
