South Korea Warns of Stern, Decisive Military Action Over North Korean Trash Balloons
Sep 23, 2024, 04:45 AM
North Korea has launched a series of trash-carrying balloons towards South Korea, with one landing on the premises of a government complex in Seoul. The South Korean military has warned of possible military actions if North Korea continues this campaign, which has seen 5,500 balloons launched since May. South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff stated that they may respond militarily if any casualties result from these balloons. The South Korean military has vowed stern measures and decisive action should North Korea cross the line with its balloon campaign. The situation marks a rare direct threat of retaliation from Seoul.
