Sean Higgins to Remain in Jail Before Trial for Deaths of NHL Star Johnny Gaudreau and Brother, .087 BAC
Sep 13, 2024, 04:07 PM
Sean Higgins, the driver accused of killing NHL star Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew, will remain in jail before trial after a judge's ruling on Friday. Higgins is facing two counts of vehicular homicide and could face up to 10 years on each count. The incident occurred while the Gaudreau brothers were bicycling on a rural road in New Jersey. Prosecutors revealed that Higgins had a blood-alcohol level of .087, above the legal limit of .08 in New Jersey. Johnny Gaudreau was a star player for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Higgins' next court hearing is scheduled for October.
