Naheed Nenshi Elected New Leader of Alberta NDP in Landslide Victory

Naheed Nenshi, former Calgary mayor, has been elected as the new leader of the Alberta NDP, replacing Rachel Notley. Nenshi secured a resounding victory with 86% of the vote on the first ballot, significantly outpacing his competitors Kathleen Ganley, Sarah Hoffman, and Rod Loyola. The vote counts were Nenshi- 62,746, Ganley- 5899, Hoffman- 3063, and Loyola- 1,222. The total voter turnout was 72,930, representing 85.6% of all members. Nenshi will now lead Alberta's opposition New Democratic Party in the oil-rich province.
