Naheed Nenshi Elected New Leader of Alberta NDP with 86% of Votes

Naheed Nenshi has been elected as the new leader of the Alberta NDP, succeeding Rachel Notley. The leadership election saw Nenshi secure 86% of the votes on the first ballot, with the remaining candidates, Ganley, Hoffman, and Stonehouse, receiving 8%, 4%, and 2% respectively. Nenshi received a total of 62,746 votes, while Ganley, Hoffman, and Stonehouse received 5,899, 3,063, and 1,222 votes respectively. A total of 72,930 votes were cast, representing 85.6% of all party members. Nenshi, the former mayor of Calgary, will now lead the opposition in Alberta.
