Putin Says Russia Aims to End Ukraine Conflict, Open to Peace Talks Hosted by Slovakia
Dec 26, 2024, 05:06 PM
Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Russia is aiming to end the conflict in Ukraine and is open to negotiations, with Slovakia offering to host talks between the two nations. Putin indicated that Russia is not opposed to Slovakia, whose Prime Minister Robert Fico maintains a neutral stance, serving as a venue for potential peace negotiations. He also mentioned that Russia cannot rule out deploying the Oreshnik missile system again, possibly even today or tomorrow, but emphasized that the country is in no hurry to do so. Additionally, Putin warned that Russia would use more powerful medium-range weapons if required and reiterated that Russia responds in kind to attacks on its territory. Putin made these remarks during a press conference after the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting.
