Supreme Court Rejects 'Pharma Bro' Shkreli's Appeal Over $64.6M Penalty for 4,000% Drug Price Hike
Oct 7, 2024, 03:21 PM
The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear former pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli's appeal against a $64.6 million financial penalty imposed by a judge. Shkreli, infamously known as the 'Pharma Bro', had raised the price of a life-saving drug by more than 4,000%, increasing the cost by over $700 per pill. He was penalized for blocking competition to the drug. The decision leaves in place the antitrust judgment against him.
