New Year's Eve Truck Attack in New Orleans Kills 10; Suspect in Military Fatigues Shot Dead
Jan 1, 2025, 04:16 PM
A vehicle attack occurred in New Orleans during New Year's Eve celebrations, resulting in at least 10 fatalities and multiple injuries. A Ford F-150 pickup truck was driven into a crowd on Bourbon Street. The suspect, reportedly wearing military fatigues, was shot dead by police at the scene. An alleged photo of the suspect has been released. The truck used in the attack was rented through the car-sharing app Turo. Initial reports suggested that the truck or suspect may have crossed into the U.S. from Mexico via Eagle Pass, Texas, two days prior to the attack. However, updated information indicates that the truck crossed the border on November 16, and it is unclear if the suspect was driving it at that time. The suspect's identity and citizenship status have not yet been confirmed, and the investigation is ongoing.
