Didier Guillaume, Former French Agriculture Minister and Monaco's Minister of State, Dies at 65 After Fulminant Illness

Didier Guillaume, who served as France's Minister of Agriculture from 2018 to 2020 and was the Minister of State of Monaco since September 2024, has died at the age of 65. Guillaume passed away due to a 'fulminant illness' during his hospitalization in Nice, as announced by the Principality of Monaco. He had been hospitalized a week prior for a scheduled medical treatment. Guillaume was a prominent figure in French politics, having held various roles including mayor of Bourg-de-Péage, president of the Drôme Departmental Council, and senator. His career also saw him closely associated with former French Presidents François Hollande and Emmanuel Macron. In Monaco, he was appointed by Prince Albert II and was praised for his human qualities and remarkable engagement in service to the principality. Guillaume had recently married Béatrice Frecenon-Guillaume in Monaco.
