BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF Sees Record $332.6 Million Outflow on Third Consecutive Day
Jan 3, 2025, 10:23 AM
BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) experienced its largest single-day outflow of $332.6 million on January 2, marking a significant shift in investor behavior. This record outflow surpassed the previous high of $188.7 million recorded on Christmas Eve and was the third consecutive day of outflows. The outflows from IBIT are part of a broader trend, with U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs seeing net outflows of $242.3 million on the same day. Despite these outflows, IBIT remains the largest spot Bitcoin ETF, with total net inflows of $36.9 billion and assets nearing $53.5 billion. The recent outflows are attributed to institutional investors adjusting their portfolios in response to Bitcoin price movements and market conditions. Bitcoin's price was at $96,690 at the time.
