Medvedev Promises Retaliation for Assassination of Russia's Nuclear Troops Chief Kirillov
Dec 17, 2024, 01:02 PM
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, has vowed retaliation against Ukraine's leadership following the assassination of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of Russia's Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops. Kirillov and his aide were killed in an explosion in Moscow, caused by a bomb hidden in an electric scooter, which Russian authorities have described as a terrorist act. Medvedev accused Ukraine of carrying out cowardly and unacceptable strikes on peaceful cities, and warned that the military and political leadership of Ukraine would face imminent punishment for Kirillov's death.
