Apple Scales Back Vision Pro Production, May Halt by Year-End, as Soon as November
Oct 23, 2024, 01:06 PM
Apple Inc. has sharply scaled back the production of its Vision Pro mixed reality headset, according to a report by The Information. The company could potentially stop manufacturing the existing version of the device entirely by the end of 2024. This decision comes amid weak demand, with some suppliers having already halted the production of components since early summer. Reports indicate that suppliers have produced enough components for approximately 600,000 headsets. Apple could suspend Vision Pro assembly as soon as November. Apple is also reportedly planning to introduce a more affordable model by 2025.
