NFL Reviewing Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Browns' Deshaun Watson, No Exempt List Consideration
Sep 10, 2024, 05:28 PM
The NFL is reviewing a new civil lawsuit filed against Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson, alleging sexual assault and battery from an incident in October 2020. The lawsuit was filed on Monday in Houston. Both the NFL and the Browns have declined comment on the matter. NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy stated that the league will look into the complaint under the Personal Conduct Policy but is not considering placing Watson on the Commissioner's Exempt List, given that no formal charges have been filed and the league's review has just begun. The Browns have expressed their intention to respect the due process of the legal system and follow the NFL's guidelines.
