Boeing Increases Wage Offer to 30% to End Strike Affecting 33,000 Seattle Workers
Sep 23, 2024, 06:11 PM
Boeing has significantly increased its contract offer to the Machinists union in an effort to end a strike that has been ongoing for more than a week. The company has proposed a 30% general wage increase over four years, up from a previous offer of 25%. Additionally, Boeing has doubled the ratification bonus to $6,000 and reinstated the AMPP bonus program. The offer also includes an increase in the company's 401(k) match program to 100% of the first 8% of pay, along with a continued automatic 4% company contribution. This 'best and final' offer aims to address worker compensation and morale. The strike involves about 33,000 workers at Boeing's main Seattle manufacturing hub.
