UNRWA Worker Killed by Israeli Sniper in West Bank Raid, First in 10 Years

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) reported that one of its staff members, Sufyan Jaber Abed Jawwadan, a father of five, was shot and killed by an Israeli sniper during a military operation in El Far’a Camp, northern West Bank, on September 12. This incident marks the first time in over a decade that an UNRWA staff member has been killed in the West Bank. The attack, which resulted in the deaths of 18 people, including six UNRWA staff members, represents the highest death toll for the agency in a single incident.
