Chinese Hackers Target U.S. Political Figures, Including Schumer's Office, Collect Phone Call Audio

Chinese government-affiliated hackers have targeted U.S. political figures and collected audio recordings of their phone calls. Among those targeted was Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's office, according to a Democratic source. The Wall Street Journal reported that the hackers also unsuccessfully tried to access the account of a WSJ journalist involved in covering the breaches. The Washington Post confirmed that the hackers collected audio from phone calls of American political figures, including an unnamed Trump campaign adviser.
