Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited Belgium on Tuesday, where he signed a bilateral security and long-term support agreement with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo. The agreement includes the delivery of 30 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by 2028, with the first jets expected to arrive this year. Additionally, Belgium has committed at least €977 million in military aid to Ukraine for 2024. This aid package will include air defense systems, maritime security, and demining efforts. The agreement, which will be in effect for a 10-year term, brings the total number of F-16s pledged to Ukraine from Belgium, Norway, the Netherlands, and Denmark to 85.
