Airstrikes Hit Houthi Ministry of Defense in Sanaa; Reports Allege U.S., U.K. Involvement
Dec 31, 2024, 12:21 PM
Multiple airstrikes have struck Houthi-controlled targets in the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, around midday on December 31, 2024, according to local and international media reports. The strikes targeted several key military installations, including the Ministry of Defense headquarters, the 22 May Complex in Al-Thawrah district, the Al-Ardi Security Complex, the headquarters of the First Armored Division, September 21 Park (formerly the First Armored Division headquarters), and a weapons maintenance camp. At least four to six explosions were reported, with heavy smoke rising over the city. Some sources, including Houthi media outlets, claim that the attacks were carried out by U.S. and U.K. forces and were launched from missiles fired from an American naval vessel rather than aircraft.
