The Netherlands, in coordination with Finland and Sweden, intercepted Russian aircraft equipped with supersonic missiles over the Baltic Sea on Tuesday, according to the Dutch Defense Minister. The operation involved Dutch F-35 fighter jets intercepting two Russian Tu-22M3 bombers and two Su-27 fighters. The Dutch Defense Minister stated that the Russian aircraft were escorted along NATO airspace, marking another instance of Dutch F-35s intercepting Russian planes in the region since the beginning of December.
