The City of Johannesburg and its entities have been found liable for the deaths of 77 people in the Usindiso Building fire, according to a report by Justice Sisi Khampepe. The report, which was handed over to Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, concludes that city authorities were responsible for neglect that led to the deadly incident. In response, the City of Johannesburg plans to honor the victims with housing initiatives.
