Feridun Sinirlioğlu Becomes First Turkish OSCE Secretary General for Three-Year Term

Feridun Sinirlioğlu, a retired Turkish ambassador, has been elected as the Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). This marks the first time in the organization's 50-year history that a Turkish citizen has held this position. Sinirlioğlu's appointment was supported by all 57 member states of the OSCE, including Greece, Armenia, and Cyprus, during a meeting held in Malta on December 5-6. He will serve a three-year term.
