Judge Allows Release of Volume One of Special Counsel Jack Smith's Report on Trump's Election Interference
Jan 13, 2025, 05:54 PM
A federal judge has cleared the way for the release of Special Counsel Jack Smith's report on President-elect Donald Trump's alleged interference in the 2020 election. U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon denied efforts by Trump and his former co-defendants to block the release of Volume One of the report, which investigates Trump's actions related to the January 6 Capitol attack and attempts to overturn his 2020 election loss. The potential release of Volume Two, concerning the classified documents case, will be decided after a hearing in Fort Pierce on January 17. Attorney General Merrick Garland did not plan to publicly release Volume Two.
