Earthquakes Up to 5 Magnitude Hit Los Angeles Area, Including Near Dodger Stadium

A series of earthquakes struck the Los Angeles area on August 12, 2024. The U.S. Geological Survey initially reported a 4.7 magnitude earthquake centered 4 km southwest of Pasadena. Later, the magnitude was revised to 4.4, with the epicenter located 2.5 miles southeast of Highland Park. Another report indicated a 5 magnitude quake. The Los Angeles Fire Department activated earthquake mode to survey critical infrastructure. No injuries have been reported. Residents across Southern California, including Claremont, South Pasadena, and El Sereno, felt the tremors. The earthquake was also felt near Dodger Stadium.
