Tesla Recalls 694,304 Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck Vehicles Over Tire Pressure Monitoring Issue
Dec 20, 2024, 06:45 PM
Tesla Inc. is recalling approximately 694,304 vehicles in the United States due to a malfunction in the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), which may fail to warn drivers of low tire pressure, increasing the risk of a crash. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that the recall affects certain 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y vehicles. The issue involves the TPMS warning light not remaining illuminated between drive cycles if tire pressure is below regulation levels, potentially leading drivers to operate vehicles with improperly inflated tires. Tesla is providing a free over-the-air software update to address the problem.
