Giants Release QB Daniel Jones Less Than Two Years After $160 Million Deal

The New York Giants have released quarterback Daniel Jones at his request, the team announced Friday in a statement from owner John Mara. Jones met with Mara on Friday morning, where they mutually agreed to part ways. The quarterback, who signed a four-year, $160 million contract less than two years ago, had been benched as the starter. Jones is expected to clear waivers due to his contract and become a free agent.
