Oklahoma's 205 Rushing Yards and Robinson's Two TDs Build 17-3 Lead Over No. 7 Alabama

Freshman running back Xavier Robinson led the Oklahoma Sooners to a 17-3 lead over the No. 7 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide early in the third quarter in Norman. Robinson rushed for 89 yards on 10 carries, scoring two touchdowns, including an 18-yard run late in the second quarter and another touchdown early in the third. Quarterback Jackson Arnold also contributed with 95 rushing yards in the first half. Oklahoma dominated on the ground, amassing 205 rushing yards to Alabama's 35 by halftime and outgaining Alabama 242 total yards to 97. The Sooners' defense held Alabama's offense to just three points in the first half. "We're doing a really good job putting hats on hats and running through trash and running with purpose and blocking and finishing," said Oklahoma head coach Brent Venables.
